Fire Station

The Wawa Volunteer Fire Department operates out of one fire station at 12 Ontario Street by volunteer firefighters on an on-call basis

Volunteer

We accept applications all year round. If you have applied and there are no vacancies, you will receive a letter stating you are on the list for the next round of hiring.

In order to be a volunteer firefighter with the Wawa Volunteer Fire Department, here are some of the requirements:

  • must live within Wawa
  • minimum of 18 years of age
  • must be able to meet the physical requirements of this demanding position
  • a valid driver's license with a clean driving record and a requirement to obtain a DZ endorsement within two (2) years
  • ability to operate in high stress, time sensitive situations
  • you must have a grade 12 diploma or the equivalency
  • must be willing to be on-call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year
  • work well with a team

  • 1992 Arctic cat cheetah snowmobile
