Future of recycling in Wawa

Recycling LogoThe Municipality of Wawa is currently in the process of reviewing recycling methods while the landfill is in a process of an expansion.

 

 

Some recycling methods Wawa:

Recycle Scrap Tires

You can return up to 4 passenger car tires at a time with no charge to the landfill site during regular operating hours at no charge. Each additional tire will be charged $6.00.

WEEE – Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment

There is no fee for the disposal of these items. You can bring your used electronics to our municipal drop off location at the Municipal Landfill Site during regular hours of operation.

There are 44 different types of home, office and portable electronics that are accepted. These items will either be reused or recycled in an environmentally responsible way.

Scrap Metal

The Municipality of Wawa accepts all scrap metal at the Wawa Municipal Landfill Site including white goods, siding, general metals, cans, etc.

Tin Can Recycling

A tin can recycling depot is located at the Michipicoten Memorial Community Centre parking lot 3 Chris Simon Drive and at Ecole St. Joseph, 101 Churchill Avenue.

Automotive Batteries

Used automotive batteries can be recycled at the Municipal Landfill Site, free of charge, during regular operating hours
